| Abstract: This workshop will present action research and its methodology. The dominant paradigm in language teacher education has been gradually shifting from ‘teacher training’ to ‘teacher development’, and attention has been paid to ‘action research’ as a tool to encourage ‘teacher development’. However, teachers seem to have some difficulty in carrying out a piece of action research. Firstly, in this workshop the definition and purposes of action research will be discussed, and then the focus will be on how to choose an ‘appropriate’ topic. Finally, the process of action research will be considered with an example of an action research topic. | ||
